Gothams Name New Manager, Pitching Coach

Today, the New York Gothams formally announced the signing of Manager Matthew O'Keefe (Left) and Pitching Coach Francisco Mieses (Right). O'Keefe, the manager of the 76-86 Cincinnati Redlegs last season and formerly the manager of the Boston Bees, was signed to a 4 million dollar contract. Mieses, one of the most successful pitching coaches in the history of UBA, Inc., will be moving on to the Gothams after 5 seasons as the pitching coach for the Louisville Greys. Mieses was signed to a 3.5 million dollar contract, nearly 1.5 million more than he received last season. When asked about leaving Louisville, Mieses said "I had five fantastic years as a manager for the Greys. We won two World Championships, and two more League Championships. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with a pitching staff that has two of the best pitchers this league has ever seen (Mayne and Cone), and to help usher in a new era with super-prospect Max Garces in his first season. This season will be a lot of fun."
